New Program Installed wont go away

XP Home. In Start menu, shows 'New Program Installed, but in programs list
none is highlighted. No new programs added in a long time. No viruses found,
no spyware found by spybot. Any ideas why 'New Programs Installed keeps
appearing?

it's probably referring to a program that's on one of the sub-menus that you
haven't launched yet.

personally, i find the highlight function to be more of an annoying bug than
a feature... so, i turn it off

right-click on Start menu, Properties, Customize button, Advanced tab,
uncheck box 'Hightlight newly installed programs', press OK
