Need an Email Address Extractor

E

Ellen L. Penick

My sister wants to set up a mailing list for people who have requested
catalogues from her small business. She needs a utility which will extract
the relevant addresses from her inbox, and, if possible, eliminate
duplicates.
She is not interested in spamming the unwary, nor does she need to harvest
urls from websites. She needs to make a list, plain and simple. If she needs
to convert to text first, we can use DBXtract to do that.

I looked at Subscription Manager, but it seems to require that the scanned
email contain a subscribe or unsubscribe text. I also looked at Email
Extractor, which to me seems to be aimed towards the {{shudder}} spammer
market.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

If she has a web server I have a simple perl script that can be used to
send an email with any subject or body to any email address and from any
email address. In this way an email can be sent to your sister from
(e-mail address removed) with subscribe or unsubscribe in the subject/body.
A simple HTML form can be made to use this script. You must have a
server that supports CGI to use the script though.

Trey, I don't think her service provider allows CGI, but I do appreciate
your offer.

Thanks,

Lynn
