MS Messenger-enterprise use

We have a Windows 2000 AD/Domain in Native Mode with Win2k and some Win2k3
servers. Workstations number around 3000 with predominately W2k and some
WinXP, Winnt4 and Win98 PCs....but, all will soon be WinXP.

Wondering if MS Messenger can be implemented throughout our Domain to all
computers? If so, how best to do it? Trying to avoid PC by PC
installations.....And, need to secure its use to specifically communication
From the Network Administrator to the logged in User or Computer ONLY....for
now. Might relax and use it for noncritical communication between Network
employee's.

Installation is easy enough - either obtain an MSI package to install
Messenger or create one with one of the various tools available to do so,
then use the Software Installation policies in AD to push it out to your
users.

Restricting its use will be much more difficult and you'll need to consult
with the folks who specialize in Messenger to see if it's even possible.
