More on the Pricelessware CD

Tentative conclusion, #2. No guilt about directing folks to download
from his home site ...

I should have written it, for clarity - "his personal site" (as Susan did).
To differentiate from the one that is problematic: www.toniarts.com.

Hiya Karen,
I'm afraid you'll have to forgive my stupidity. I was
checking earlier and noticed your reply to my post, but couldn't actually
see your reply (if that makes sense)...... wasn't until I checked my blocked
senders that I realised what had happened (

What's to make sense? You're telling me I was on your killfile list.

I knew it. HEARTBREAKER! You Brits are all alike. Wine and dine us, and
tingle our ears with that smootho accent. Then up and dump us. Before
we even know it happened.

They don't have the smooth, elegant accent any more.

Well after a hell of a lot of clicks and some
WinHTTP will automatically create a browsable copy of the
website on a local hard drive, with selected large files
excluded if desired. Start WinHTTP, select a few setup parms,
.... walk away, ... come back to the entire site, downloaded,
browsable on your hard drive. Because the links are relative,
the entire heirarchy can be copied to a CD and browsed from it
as well. I've done this a number of times for several web sites.
Leaving the files as is -- html, graphics, .zip, .exe, etc.
might be more straightforward than creating an ISO CD.

So, concusion #1. The primary issue. It is still freeware ...

Looks like it to me *now*. (I tried to find a free download and had no
luck. I had just about concluded it should be removed from PL2004 when
CoMa posted his info.)
Tentative conclusion, #2. No guilt about directing folks to download

Actually, I do feel a bit of guilty. . . It would be nice if someone
offered to host his Pricelessware program . . .
Tentative conclusion, #3. Those who do sign up for the "ToniArts
Membership," their money will go entirely to that external entity,
Danima.com ...

dunno . . .

LOL no, as a young man our click of buddies we all had nick names, T-
bone,Bedro,Herk,Flint,Humpy, etc and mine wound up being burnr as one of our
crew had a heavy german accent and his pronunciation of "runner" sounded
like "burnr". I've had that nick for many, many years. Have been using the
nick to post to usenet since Oct.2000 and irc before that :)

I've never been good at guessing things like that. Nice to know my
unbroken record of failure is intact. ;)

It's a great usenet nick - different and easy to remember.

From looking at Toni's comments in the forum I think he would be.

Of course if the program's EULA allows distribution you don't *have* to
ask . . .

No luck here either - I'll try again later.

Maybe someone who has EasyCleaner can check the EULA for you.

I just reinstalled it to check my hunch...I never saw a EULA. Couldn't find
one in the help file neither.

I did have...seems everything leads to a sign-up page now. However, I could
put a copy in my ftp server for you if you wanted to download it from there.

The EasyCleaner "help" page confirms that he allows redistribution:

Welcome to EasyCleaner 2.0!

EasyCleaner is fully free so you can distribute it freely as long as
you don't modify it!
