Logon problem after changing from doman to workgroup

After I removed the domain and set up a workgroup name I
had to reboot and upon logon my usual password didn't
work anymore - I am the sole user of this laptop - I
don't have the Administrator password since I never had
to use it - how can I access my OWN computer again? I am
so stuck...

The problem is, when you changed from domain to workgroup, to Win2000 that
is a completely different account. Try loging in as
<old username>@<old domain> (yes, like a web page). With luck it will gripe
because it can't locate the domain but it should let you in. From there,
setup a local account.

The administrator account was created when Win2000 was first installed, or
when you first turned on the laptop and it configured itself. Regardless of
whether you ever used the account, it is there. If you don't remember
setting up a password, try logging in as Administrator with a blank
password.

You will have to talk to your network administrator. He can
do either of two things:
- Re-register the machine on the domain, or
- Log on locally with the administrator's account and the
password he entered when loading Win2000 for the first time.
