Live Update - Unable to complete

C

Cindy

I've got WindowsXP
Version 5.1 (Build 2600 xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1)
Copyright 1981-2001 Microsoft Corp.

On a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop purchased 2 yrs. ago
directly from Dell.

I've just recently attempted to run the Live Update, and
it seems to reach a point where it STOPS and will not go
any further.

Comes up with:
LiveUpdate was unable to complete
Windows 2000 Service Pack 1
NAVNT 8.02

I have continued to receive the online updates from
Microsoft updating regularly.

Can anyone help me figure out what the cause of this may
be?
A few minutes ago I'd received 2 seperate messages from
Norton stating that it'd stopped a Virus that had come in.
And that it was unable to "Repair" it.
With that I immediately uninstalled and reinstalled
Norton Antivirus, and this is when I noticed that it
would not allow the LiveUpdate to continue.
Help!

Thank you ahead of time! ;-)

Cindy;
Live Update is a feature of Norton.
You should contact Norton for problems with their software.
You could uninstall Norton, reboot, then reinstall and see if that
resolves the issue.

Try forcing LiveUpdate to run.
Type "luall" (no quotes) from your Run > Dialog box.
Hit <enter> see if it completes with this command prompt.
*Assuming* NAV 2003, here are some tips for you to browse
in order to troubleshoot your issue.

There is currently a real problem with live update on Norton. I suggest you
do not try to use it. Norton must be aware of this but has not taken the
time or effort to fix it.
