Liteware definition?

"More: Here are some more reasons to buy Zoner Draw 4.
Zoner Draw 4 also includes several bonuses."

Version 3 still seems available as a full registerware version.

It is also liteware I suppose, as v4 has 5 applications, rather than
the 4 v3 has.

This is the current ware description:

(Registerware: name/ email/ country) (earlier version of a commercial
program)

YMMV but IMO that tells people what they want/ need to know.

I don't care one way or the other...but I think people choose programs
based on their description.

If people prefer freeware to liteware, that's fine. Why do you wish to
keep that info from them?

Simply because one is "freeware" and the other "liteware".
Re-read *my* first paragraph above. a number of times if necessary

I read it, it isn't even worth quoting, not even an valid argument,
more like a joke, we are not going to be "flooded" with these scenarios,
it may happen, but not often enough to be nuisance. admit it john, lol

my first paragraph applies here also, Re-read my first paragraph above

also the truth is "liteware" is exactly what these programs are,
so why mislead people, simple.

Your definition of liteware is faulty. Liteware is usually a downsized
version of the *current* payware application. Programs such as
ZonerDraw3 and SerifPagePlus5/6 were never created to be downsized
versions of the current payware version. The publishers were generous
enough to simply offer their older versions for free. From what I've
seen here, older freeware versions of payware apps were never
considered as crippled.

I noticed that some items were tagged as "open source", so I offer
some suggested revisions:

(I don't claim to have found all the "open source" or "Free Software"
items, but just a few that I spotted and know.)

***************

....7-zip is also (open source: LPGL license) (sf.net/projects/sevenzip)
....AbiWord is also (open source and Free Software: GPL license)
....FileZilla is also (open source and Free Software: GPL license)
....
....Mozilla is also (open source: Mozilla Public License)
(Probably also true for all the Mozilla subprojects)
....
[New addition I believe]
WinMerge (Freeware, open source and Free Software: GPL
license)
....OpenOffice is also (open source: dual LPGL & SISSL license)
....vim is also (open source: custom, GPL-compatible license)

PS:
I use "Free Software" in the "free as in liberty" sense as
used by GNU (and I think as is fairly conventional when
capitalized thus). cf: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html

Thank you for the help. :) I added open source and license info where
not already noted. (FYI - if you want to do some further review - the
Nominations page shows that info for all programs.)

I didn't add "Free Software" for fear of confusing readers who are
unfamiliar with the "open source" meaning of that term.
