Internet Explorer takes forever to load

When launching IE 6 in Windows XP, the actual program
window takes forever to load. This inculdes laucning
window update as it uses Internet Explorer for its tool.
Once the window opens however, it runs just fine. But
another problem occurs when I try to open a new window
from the existing window. It takes forever to load the
actual program window. Surfing of the internet is not
slow and web pages appear fast once the IE window
appears. Has anyone else had this problem? I have
alraedy tried to reinstall IE 6.

Thanks

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
