Internet Explorer Progress Bar May Show Incorrect Status

I am experiencing the described problems also in Internet Explorer
6.0.29.2180.xpsp_sp2 build 050301-1519

The article on support.microsoft.com has this only confirmed for IE 5.5
SP1.
Is there any update or fix that can be applied, because it seems to be
a serious problem to alot of our customers when the browser displays
something happening that they don't know of.

Big Thanks for the link!
I gave it a try and it seems to work (setting status-text to empty
string).
