internal error 2343

The windows installer is constantly looping attemping to
complete instalation of software for my photosmart 7350.
It repeats approx. once every 3-5 seconds end the pattern
with "Internal Error 2343". Do I have to reistall XP?

Was Lotus notes installed at one time and then removed? Just checking
possibilities.

Negative, this error is the result of HP tech assistance
and now they say this is a MS XP issue. They had me go
into regedit and delete the HP folder, then uninstall then
install their latest software for our printer.

Is it possible to use system restore to put the system back to a date before
the problem occurred?

My HP system restore says, "cannot complete restore try
another date. I've tried many highlighted dates always
receiving the same error.

hi, same problem after I uninstalled and now trying to reinstall hp AIO software.
Had also gone thru same hell process of regedit advised by hp support.

I am luckier since I was able to still able excecute system restore on an earlier date; BUT it still does not allow the HP software + printer to be installed. Same error message "error 2343" appears.

NOTE: noticed that you said "HP system restore" ; try using the windows system restore: START>Assecories>System tools>system restore. Your restore should work but no garantee installation for printer will be solved

Hello
Did anyone get a result for this problem. My HP 3500 scanner set up is
driving me nuts. I tried to uninstall the correct way and when I then
tried to reinstall I get the Error 2343 message. The start up disk just
gets a minute inbto the setup and the 2343 message appears and then it
reverts backwards again.I have tried everything and am tearing my hair
out with this one!!

This is what the error means.

errormsg 2343
Error code 2343: This device is already in use as a communication device.

Try Bruce Sanderson's suggestions for completely removing the drivers before
reinstall.
