Installing Windows XP SP2

I have built my computer from components and when I install Windows XP SP2 it
loops back. I have an Intel Pentium 4 Processor, an ABIT Motherboard A17
Guru with an Intel 865PE/ICH5-R chipset, a Weatern Digital 80 GB 7200 RPM
hard drive, that I have formatted with the included software. I have not
formatted the motherboard as it says to do that after the OS is installed.

I get through the installation and it asks what I want to do, I click the
enter key to install Windows XP. When it gets to the Agreement page if I
don't click F8 button immediately to accept it reboots (screen goes balck,
one beep and it starts over with the installation). If I click F8 in time,
it goes to the partition page, and if I don't click fast enough or try to
change the size of the partition, it restarts again.

Hi,

Recheck your hardware configuration, as there is likely something set
incorrectly. Make sure you are using system clock defaults, no tweaking.
