Hi, I have one question. I have old computer with pentium4 1,4ghz and intel
845chipset motherboard and win XP prof SP2 installed (with SP2 integrated in
install CD). I want to know if the driver called Intel® Chipset Software
Installation Utility (INF) for old 845 chipset is integrated in win XP prof
SP2 installation. So I want to know If is this driver automaticaly installed
during windows installation or not. Thanks

Even if it is (I doubt it) you would be better off getting the latest
version from the hardware manufacturer in almost all cases when it comes to
hardware device drivers.

No, it is not integrated in the stock SP2 from Microsoft.
It may be integrated in WinXP supplied by some OEMs
(preinstalled on the machine, a "recovery CD" or image, etc.)

No. Get the updated drivers from intel.com. And in my experience do not
install the application accelerator, whatever it is.

No its not, however the latest utility from intel isnt compatable with the
P845,you need june,2005 or earlier.Also,while application accelerator v2.3
is from 2004,its still a v.good installation,it updates the IDE controllers.
