Thanks, Steven. I'm on my way to download now. Your program keeps
getting better and better. Since Finn Ekberg Christiansen seems to
have stopped development on "Empty Temp Folders", maybe it's time for
me to switch completely over to your program.

John, strangely enough, I've actually built a new program. Not sure what to
call it though. Infact, not even going to release it until I get my XP
system up and running again (so I can make sure it works on XP aswell).

The new program is basically an extension of Index.dat Suite, only this one
allows you to clear the contents of any folder based on folders you choose,
and has a timer so you can set it to delete the contents at a set interval
(I've been testing it on the Cookies and TIF folders for now).

Steve,

Here's an excellent little program to give you some ideas on features and
behaviors. I think it's just perfect for cleaning selected folders on boot.
The down side is that it's limited only to boot, but that's not all bad.

Bob,
I've actually got an older copy of that and used to use it on my old 95
system (now gone to the big computer heaven in the sky), tis quite a ditty

Another one, but CLI, is Cleanup at <http://optimumx.com/>.
Just found it - not tested.

As mentioned by someone in a recent thread, some apps (like Ms Office)
store restore information (backups) in temp - so after a crash or
failed save - it will offer to restore unsaved data next time the app
is run. For that reason, I think a good temp cleaner tool should
offer: "delete only files older than X", say like
Delage <http://home.mnet-online.de/horst.muc/wbat32.htm>.

PS: if you run XP (pro) or Win2k/NT - and have admin rights, you
should be able to run delage (or whatever) as part of a startup or
log-on/off script (cmd/batch/whatever) via gpedit (the group policy
editor), see for example
<http://www.jsiinc.com/sube/tip2100/rh2147.htm>.

All the best,
Bjorn Simonsen

Wow! Sounds good, Steven. I'll be looking forward to trying it out.
