IE6.0 web pages freeze (hang) for minute

Hello,
My IE6.0 web pages load normally but freeze (hang) for one
minute before I can do anything with them. I cannot scroll
or click them. This happens for ALL pages. All my other
programs work fine.

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Here's the fix that worked for me
Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced then UNCHECK "Enable
third-party browser extensions"
then reboot.
Worked for me hope it helps someone else.

Wammy,
I've got the same problem. This just started in the past two days. I cleaned out cookies, temp files, history, reinstalled WindowsXP, and I still have the problem. In addition, I note that some have mentioned to clear "enable third party cookies" on one of the properties tabs, and I can't find it either. Sigh. Been trying to fix this for 12 hours.

Wammy,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
