IE scrolls too much

Clicking the scroll bar in IE6 on XP Pro causes the page to move up or
down by a screen and a half, so you miss bits out on a long page. Is
there a fix for this, apart from holding down on the arrowheads?

All other software windows page normally - why is IE so different?

I've read that is a new feature that came with one of those windows
upgrades, and you'll probably find it in a few other apps if you pay close
attention. If you click close to the slider bar, it moves one page, if you
click a long ways from the slider bar, it moves more than one page. It does
rather make it hard to set your mouse at the bottom of the bar, and click
down one page at a time, doesn't it?

Neil,
This is caused by a bug in the Q824145 patch. Click just under the slider in
the scrollbar, drag the slider, use the Page Up/Page Down keys, the arrow
keys or the wheel on the mouse.

But...
There's a new critical Update out for IE.
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-004- Cumulative Security Update for IE
(832894)http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bul
letin/MS04-004.asp
I've heard that it fixes the scrolling problem and I've heard that it
doesn't. It will almost certainly delete all saved (autocomplete) passwords.

Hope this helps,
Don

My computer is supposed to do that automatically! However, I frequently
do it manually, but it has been a few days. It does seem to have done
the trick, and I haven't lost any autosaved data yet.

(sorry for the delay - second time posting - no turn up the first time!)
