IE Script Error opening User Accounts?

K

Kenny

Whe I open User Accounts from Control Panel I get a dialogue box with:

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 4
Char: 1
Error: Access is denied
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\\Windows\system32\nusmgr..cpl/nusmgr.hta
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
Yes No

Clicking either it carries on and seems to work normally.
Can anyone explain what this is about and how to fix it?

Hi Kenny,
Are you sure of the name right nusmgr..cpl not nusrmgr.cpl, what happen if
you open the executional file mshta.exe and what verion is it?.
Try to scan for viruses and malwares on your computer to be sure nothing
lurking in the background.
Then open a run command and try to register these DLL
regsvr32 mshtml
regsvr32 jscript
regsvr32 /i nusrmgr.cpl
regsvr32 shell32.dll

if the above did n't help try to run the sfc /scannow to repair any
corrupted or damaged files on your system.
HTH.
Let us know.

nass

Thanks for the replies.
Have tried all those steps, done thorough virus and malware scans, run SFC
and the problem's still there.
If I right click and Open from there it doesn't happen, only when I double
click to open.
This is a minor irritation rather than a real problem but I would still like
to know why it's happening.

Another, try this, click Start >> Controo Panel >> Double click Network
and
Internet Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE Properties click Advanced tab and scroll down under Browsing
Option and check these boxes:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)
[ ] Disable Script Debugging (Other)
Click Apply then OK to close the IE and Reboot your computer.
HTH.
