HTTP 404 error

I have all the current downloads that are available but
yet... when at Yahoo and MSN home pages and I do a search
the message comes up HTTP 404 file not found Internet
Explorer the page cannot be found or has been removed....
Can anyone please help me?

I did the update. I did the 6.0 service pack and then
when I go to do the next one it still says that I need to
do the 6.0 update when I have already done it. (yes, i
did a restart) help

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If you did not create the file, then you may have parasites, or you are
using a web accelerator program that would be causing this problem.
