HTTP 404 error

Hi,

When I tried to open a .html page, an error message pops
up saying that 'The internet site reports that the item
you requested could not be found (HTTP/1.0 404). My PC is
running Internet Explorer 6. Can someone help me with
this problem?

A 404 error means that the item or page is not available.
It could be the link you clicked had an error or the page
was removed. It is not a problem with IE 6.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

If that clears your problem and you did not modify this file then check for
parasites.
