404 The page cannot be found, when searching

I have an installation of IE 6 with all the current
updates. When you try to do a search from any search
engine, Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc., the browser awlays comes
back with this 404 error, The page cannot be found. I've
backed it to IE 5 and had the same results. I then brought
it back to current with the same results.

Any suggestions welcome,

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
