I tried to insert a videoclip in powerpoint that I took from a digital camera
and saved that clip in my computer, but when I tried to insert in powerpoint,
it says the following: video not available, cannot find "vids: mjpg"
decompressor. What can I do to correct the problem?

Thank you for answering , appreciate, but did not answer my question. I have
a problem with a video clip I took with my digital camera and want to insert
into my powerpoint presentation. The video clip opens in window media player
but I cannot integrate it in my slide show and want to know why, do I have to
save it in another kind of format?
thank you

Denise,

I built a PowerPoint add in to address issues just like this. There is a
fully functioning trial version you can give a whirl (costs nothing to try
it) that can be downloaded from www.pfcmedia.com

It will fully automate the conversion process and insert it in your
presentation and the resulting presentation will play in all versions of PPT
and the PPT viewers without the receiving machines needing to install
anything. (As a bonus, in almost all cases you will see a significant
reduction in the file size of the video.)

Give it a look and see if it doesn't solve the issue for you.

Rename the video from .AVI to .MPG as explained in TAJ's link.

Then use Insert/Movies and Sounds/Movie from File to insert into your
presentation.

I had the same problem. Tried your solution and it worked perfectly. Thanks.
