How do I remove "safely remove hardware" function?

I have recently purchased an external USB soundcard for
home recording purposes. The Safely Remove Hardware icon
is in the system tray, and every so often the
Windows 'bing-bong' sounds (stop me if I'm getting too
technical...) and mucks up my recording. At this point,
no more sounds can be heard, and I have to close the
software (Cakewalk) and re-open it. Things continue
perfectly well until the next 'bing-bong' (there I go
again...).

How can I prevent this function from operating
automatically?

Thanks in advance.

If it came with the disc with a driver load it,don't use
it as plug and play,if it uses the driver it won't show
the removale tool.
