Over the past several months I have had problems sending and
receiving email on several occasions. Suddenly I would be unable
to send/receive email, then after several days it would suddenly
come good again. I had no idea what caused the problem or
what cured it. My ISP told me there was no problem at their
end. I had their tech come out and he told me the problem had
cured had cured itself the day before after having started about
four days before.
This problem started again a couple of days ago and again my
ISP says there is no problem their end. I use Outlook Express,
Win XP Pro, for my browser and the techie at the ISP's help
line suggested that an updating of Outlook Express can cause
this type of problem.
I did not admit to the ISP techie that I thought his suggestion
was likely; however, I did remember a Windows update not
long before this latest problem struck and on one other
previous occasion there was a change of format in Outlook
Express at about the time the problem occurred. So I have
to ask if an update happening could have any relation to my
problem? How do I solve my problem?
I have always found the people on these news groups helpful
and patient. When I went to post this message on the "General"
news group I could not find any post later than the first of this
month, and I don't seem to be able to find the news group for
Outlook Express.
TIA,
Nev.
