Is there a group for Outlook Express errors and questions? TIA

M

Meg Frairey

Hello,

I've been having a problem with Outlook Express for about a month now. It's
intermittent but very annoying. The following error pops up out of nowhere while
reading mail:

Message could not be displayed
Outlook Express encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message.
Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.

After the error occurs, I can't delete anything because the delete button is greyed
out and my address book won't open. If I simply close OE and then re-run the
program, it works fine for a random amount of time, sometimes for hours. As of late
though, it has been erroring more often. Any ideas?

I'm posting to this XP group because I can't find an Outlook Express support group.
Maybe my news server doesn't carry enough groups? If I am in the wrong group, could
someone please direct me to a more appropriate one?

Thank You,
Meg

Oh, and set up a new news account using msnews.microsoft.com as the server,
that way you'll get all the MS groups.

there are several things
that can be done to
either alleviate or rule
out this aspect of
disk space.

Why would you bother replying saying there are things that can be done, then
provide no suggestions on things to do?
If you can't come up with better replies than this, please keep silent.

because i am responding
directly to the o.p.'s request
and any suggestions i offer
are for the person who created
the thread and asked the question.

as for anyone else who has
a question, simply post a new
thread and request for answers.

no point in wasting my
valuable time if the o.p.
is no longer looking here
for answers....

Although you've been directed elsewhere, I'll answer here in case you are
still reading. There has been along discussion on various groups about this
and the finger seems to be pointing towards McAfee Site Advisor.

I was having the same problem and had MSA bundled as part of the Security
Suite. I've now removed it and all traces of it from the registry and the
problem hasn't shown since (10 days on) so I'm considering it 'fixed'
