How do I email a Windows Word file to a Macintosh

How do I save a document in Office Word 2003 so it cabn be opened in a Mac?

Just send it - nothing you need to do. Word for the Mac has the ability
to open this kind of document. At least it should - after all, Macs are
perfect!

Just as an FYI - it's a god idea to zip any files before forwarding as
attachments... Regardless of where they're going:)

Why? Unless the original file is really large or you want to use ZIP's
password protection, I can't think of any reason to do this.

It may be less true now, but in the past it was often the case that some
email clients (especially the one used by AOL) had a tendency to mangle
documents sent "unwrapped."

Macs are indeed better than PCs, and MacWord (at least through 2002)
is indeed better than WinWord (2003) in terms of GUI and key
combinations, but it's because MS made WinWord and MacWord documents
completely compatible that they are interplatform shareable.

Odd. After all, "bytes is bytes" and it is strange that one type of file
would be mangled and others would not.
