Use custom font mapping file?

WordWracked

I'm using Word 2000 on WinXP, and every time I create a new document, a
dialog pops up asking if I want to use a custom font mapping file. The title
of the dialog is Word 4.x-5.x for the Macintosh conversion. I don't know why
this started appearing and can't seem to stop it. I'm not opening or creating
Mac documents. Suggestions?

Hi Wracked,

In Tools=>Options=>General, turn on
[x] Confirm conversions at open
then use File=>Open on the problem file to see if you get a conversion confirmation dialog. A file or template may be damaged and
Word may 'see' the file as something other than a standard Word document.

The discussion groups are generally peer support.

I have the same problem. I wish someone from Microsoft would address this. >>

I tried that. Didn't change anything. Still get the error every time I create
a file. The templates are fine. They're downloaded fresh from the server
every time I log in. I don't get this message on other machines.
