help please with cookies on XP

I've been running XP with IE 6.0 with no problems. I
recently added Office XP and now my IE will not accept
cookies for any reason. The NY Times is one of the
websites I'm trying to access. I have tried setting
privacy settings to accept all, no effect. I have
entered NYTimes.com via edit into the acceptable domains,
no effect. My wife's machine, working on the same
network and running XP/IE6/Office 2000 works without a
hitch. What did Office XP do and how can I correct it to
access my necessary sites?

try just resetting everything to the default
settings/ ....tools, options, advance tab ...click default
level......programs tab etc etc etc ....especially for the
security tab.... hope this helps...otherwise make sure it
s not your fire wall

Thank you Sauda for trying. I did as you suggested and
went through each of the tabs resetting them all to
default (where it was available). This has not solved
the problem. My firewall allows seven other machines to
access the web without fail. The only difference I can
plainly see is the Office XP addition. I sought MS help
by phone today but they cut me off after about a minute.
Not the best product service. Their phones were busy
continuously after that.
