I have been having a problem opening some websites. You
had earlier suggested that I run Spy bot, adware 6 and
cwshredder when i was getting redirected to certain
websites. After doing all this I was still not able to
open the 2 websites only.Kept getting a message cant find
server.Other web sites were opening ok.I was asked to do
winsockfix.Even after this I am not able to open these 2
sites .I read a message from u addressed to somebody
else saying that some line has to be deleted from the
file Host or rename the file oldhost. My hosts file in
c:/windows/system/drivers/etc contains this
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP
for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host
names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP
address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the
corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by
at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted
on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#'
symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source
server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x
client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
The websites i cant open are cnn.com and asij.ac.jp
please help.Thank You
