Event Viewer/mmc.exe Hangs

Hi Folks.

Doesn't anyone know how to fix or stop the Event
Viewer/mmc.exe program from hanging on XP Pro. The viewer
will open and let me read the events, but after that will
will not close. This problem isn't harming anything but
it's bugging the heck outta me, especially after I
finally got everything else to run smoothly on XP Pro.

Christopher try this
Event Viewer - Clear Log
Start/Run/Eventvwr.msc. Right click either/each in the right
pane/Properties/Clear Log.

Thanks Rich, but I tried that already. It still hangs.
This is the Event Properties if this helps anyone with
some ideas in how to fix this problem.

Well guess what? I thought I would for some reason, turn
off the Hyper-Threading for my P4 306 in the bios and so
far the event viewer is working again. Actually it may
have solved afew things with XP and I don't notice any
slow down with the Hyper-Threading disabled, so hey. I'm
leaving it this way for now.
