I have installed windows mail live but when I try to send a message from a
sit where it pops open a mail window and I hit send, it tells me that it is
not recogonized and has something to do with not having a POP3. It tells me I
now have 9 messages waiting to be sent but every time I try I get this same
error message.

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
Who is your mail service provider?

Yes it did work, well done.

Now we need to know the name of your ISP, and the bit after the @ in your
email address that you are trying to set up.

ok, I think you want my Internet Service Provider which is Embark and
I use hotmail as my email service. I just have downloaded about 2 - 3
weeks ago the Windows Live Mail in place of the Windows Mail but I
still see the Windows Mail in my programs. I don't know if that is
interferring
with anything but I don't think so since this problem also happened before the
Windows Live Mail was downloaded. I use Internet Explorerer as my
way onto the internet and Embark is my DSL and ISP.

If you want to set up a Hotmail account in your mail client (Windows Mail or
Windows Live Mail), we don't need to know who your ISP is.

1. Windows Live Mail: account setup is automatic. When you begin the
'add new account' process, just give it your Hotmail.com address and it
will do the rest.

2. Windows Mail doesn't support HTTP mail, which for a long time was the
only allowed access method for free Hotmail accounts.

In February, Microsoft enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts.
Follow the settings given here:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry
Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Although it accepts the newer Live.com addresses, Windows Mail's
account setup wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail and MSN addresses.
To get around that, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address initially,
use a fake one, such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete,
go back and correct your email address.

You are not completing the account settings correctly.
The out going server cannot be named just 'smtp' it has to be named 'smtp.live.com"
See the listing below and follow the link Gary gave you.

setting for hotmail in windows mail.

POP server: pop3.live.com use (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example (e-mail address removed)
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com use (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

this is the message I get when I tried to send an e-mail using Windows
Live
Mail when it is being sent from a web site other than my hotmail email
regular account. In other words, I received an email which had a
"(e-mail address removed)" When I clicked this on it opened an e-mail
page for Windows Live Mail but after I write the message and click send,
the
following message pops up. This is the on going problem and I thought when
Windowns Live Mail was loaded in would be corrected but as you see it is
not. How can this be fixed?

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
