Error 1904 on microsoft antispyware

samuelson

I'm trying to uninstall Microsoft Antispyware, and I
can't. When the uninstall process is approaching to the
the end, a windows appears which says "Error 1904. Module
C:\program files\microsoft
antispyware\gcantispywarelibrary.dll failed to register.
HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel."
After this window, another 10 more appears that only
changes the name of the file, in the same path. The
extension of the files are all .dll

Thank you, I really appreciate your support

Hello Engel,

Thank you for your encouraging post.

I came to this site seeking a solution to the 1904 Error problem. I went to
the link you posted and was welcomed with... "The Requested Web Page is Not
Available."

I was sure hoping you had a solution to get the MSAS Beta software running
again on this system.

As your post was 9/28/2005 8:17 PM PST and it is now 10/20/05 it occured to
me that there have been new changes in the spyware vs anti spyware & malicous
program battle of brains and resources.

I was directed to this Newsgroup by MSAS support team. I started trying to
fix this computer ( 850 malicous files detected/lightning fast multiple
popups from hyjackers & redialers vyperspaces hellware kitchens). I scanning
with Norton and Microtrend. I discovered MSAS and installed it on a temp
user account. I am on my cousins computer with XP home edition.

Norton, & Microtrend caught some but not all Malicous programs. MSAS
cleaned up the rest... all but 6. MSAS said it removed them but they were
there when I rescanned after shutdown. I tried numbersous times with the
same results.

I then deleted my user account and tried to launch the MSAS from the admin
user account on the system desktop. It would not launch... I got the Error
1904... as it was originally discribed.

I redownloaded the MSAS download file a second time in an effort to update
or reinstall. I got the same results (error 1904) in all 3 senarios. 1)
launch from desktop 2) uninstall 3) update {note: curiously there was no
selection for install.

Anyway... it appears that the Spyware/adware/autodialers/redirectors/...
etcetra Malicous application programs people have disabled Microsoft
Antispyware.

Ironic isn't it? But the sheer intent my MS to have a antispyware utility
program is a fantastic start. I have been fighting that storm/war in my
small business with 12 workstations and two networks for years.

I certainly hope MS has people or resources that can defeat these malicous
program intruders and trespassers. Although they are very good they are
terrorizing the small businessman.

If you have new info or a link to the latest solution enabling me to reload
the MSAS on this system or malicious program software removal... it would be
appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
