drwtsn32.exe application failed

Hello, I have a new Dell Dimension 4600 computer with
Windows XP, upon receiving the computer we downloaded all
the Microsoft critical updates, which was no easy task,
there were 40! Since doing the downloads each time we
shut down the computer we get this message - drwtsn32.exe
failed, The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000142), click on OK to terminate application.

It then takes three or four clicks for it to terminate.
I've tried reading online to find out what this is and
how to fix it, but haven't found much help. If someone
could steer me in the right direction to resolve this,
I'd be very grateful, thanks!
