Does the Antivirus installed in the ICS host computer scan the files
downloaded by the client computers?

No, ICS is acting simply as a router.
None of the apps on the ICS machine see any of the files being transferred.

No. You need to have antivirus and firewall programs installed
individually on all Workgroup computers.

No. You want to have your peer-to-peer Workgroup perform like a domain
and you can't do this without a server operating system.

Seconded (not that Malke needs my help, but ... <G>). You're trying to do
things that Windows XP is not capable of. You are seriously in need of at
least a server in your network, if not a domain controller and some
centralized tools.
