display effects

I use winxp sp2. In my "display properties" the
appearance/effects does not work. Nothing happens and no
error message. As far as I can tell this problem
happened when I downloaded and installed another "theme"
program. How do I restore the effects option??

Uninstall the other "theme" program. If this doesn't help, you may
want to use the "System Restore Tool".
