Display properties

I use home edition win xp service pack 2. When I right click on the desktop
I get display properties/appearance/effects. The effects button does not
work. Nothing happens and no error message. This started about the time I
used another "desktop" program with installing themes. But I have no way of
knowing if that caused the problem. How do I restore the effects option?

Go to the website of your video card/computer manufacturer and get the
latest Windows XP video driver.
