Disk full error

someone in my office has Windows XP SP2, 3.2Ghz Celeron Processor with 1GB
memory. She has a 35GB C drive partition, 22GB of which is free.

When she has multiple MS Word documents open (in this case she had 3 big
ones open) the message "Disk Full" pops up. What would cause this?

Each o fhtese have to do with freeing up disk space by saving them to
different drives or deleting files. The main drive that she is working from
has 22GB free. The open files are not THAT big.

How much physical RAM does the machine have installed ? With
all the files opened in Word have you checked TaskMgr for items
like Memory Usage, Handles and I/O counts ? Process to check is
WinWord.Exe.

Also a key piece of data would be which version of Microsoft
Word is being used.

Has the machine in question had it's Temp folders cleaned ?

Once the RAM memory is fully utilised the system will use the pagefile,
which could take up all the free disk space. Another explanation could a
corrupted file causing the system to keep processing the file using more
and more memory resulting in an ever expanding pagefile.

Have you checked to see whether your Word normal.dot template has
corrupted?

You didn't read them close enough or only went by the heading I
included. There are other resolutions on the pages. Take a little time
and study it, you may find them helpful.
