Deleting Read Only Files From a CD-RW

My girlfriend gives me a CD-RW so I can save stuff onto it. I want to
put files onto the CD so I delete the CD. I click on the "Erase this
CD" option in windows explorer, it goes through the process but the
damn files are still there. I dont want the CD to use that UDF stuff
right now I just want to be able to use the CD. I dont know if this
helps but the the format the CD is in, is CDFS format. All I want is
just to erase the CD thats all.

Take a look at the properties of the files and see if they are Read Only; if
so, if they can be changed.

you cannot erase just one (or several) files
you need to erase the entire cd

I check the files are read only. I tried to change it to not be read
only but the disc wont let me. I tried to erase the entire cd
but nothing happens.

That's because CD ROM = CD Read Only Memory. I would guess in that cast that
the CD has NOT been formatted for packet writing.
I tried to erase the entire cd
but nothing happens.

I would guess that the CD has also been finalised.....anyway, CDR are about
18p each (That's just under US 40c at current exchangre rates). Can't you
afford to buy any CDRs?

You need to use your cd burning software to erase the whole disk...

BTW: You may want to look into UDF if it's really important for you to add
and remove files
from the cd...

You can do it with Nero Burning using their IN-CD software
