Deleting files on a CD-RW

I have some MP3 files on a CD-RW that I would like to
delete individually. I get a message that the file is
a "read only". However, I have no problems deleting all
files with the command "Erase this CD-RW". When I go
into "properties" and uncheck "read only", I get an error
message. Is there a way to delete select files? Thanks.

You have to copy the disc to your HD, erase the disk, delete the MP3
files from the HD that you don't want, then re-burn the ones you
want. AFAIK, it's the only way.

The only way to delete them individualy is if they were wriiten using packet
writing software such as INCD or DirectCD. Otherwise it's erase the whole
cdrw or nothing.

Windows has a problem in this respect... It fails to understand the concept
that a RW cd can have individual files deleted without affecting the rest of
the cd (to a greater or lesser degree)...

The workaround is to use 3rd party software, I use InCD myself.
Perhaps this is a bug fix that Micro$oft will consider when the time
comes...

Yet another very good reason not to use the awful RW system.

None of them work properly. Particularly InCD.

Except he's not using packet writing or he'd be able to delete individual
files from the disk.

If you made the CD with the inbuilt burning that is not a 'packet
writing' method as usual with CD-RW and you cannot delete files
individually. Read up at my page http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm
