Conflict With AVG (Free) and Ad-Aware 2007?

I have had this problem also - could it be because AdAware 2007 run
aawservice.exe - which it didn't do previous to change to Adaware 2007? I
stop this from running by setting it (aawservice.exe) to "manual" instead of
automatic (using WinPatrol) usually - however, it seems when I fail to do
this is when AVG seems to require a restart after manual update. I'm not
sure this is the problem - but think it might be. Any comments appreciated.

I have adaware set to manual in services already and that did not make any
difference.
Try what i posted earlier for AVG and see if that fixes it- it seems to have
for me so far anyway

Tried your solution - thought it worked, then today it requested restart
again. My pc reverts to automatic each time Adware 2007 is started - and
doesn't stop unless I shut the computer down or manually stop aawservice.exe.
Yours remains stopped and retains "manual" even after opening and running
AdAware 2007?

i have one client- we uninstalled Adaware 2007 but AVG after everything is
still asking for a reboot-
He is going to uninstall it then try reinstalling it again and see if that
works
Someone at Lavasoft (and I posted it there too) should hopefully see this
and fix what they did here

as for adaware stopping- i went into "services" in administrative tools and
put it into "manual". I have had it this way all the time and even after
running adaware it still shows it as manual

I don't even run adaware, yet had the problem. AVG forum had me uninstall,
reinstall, and even do the fix it thing, nothing worked. Beats me what the
problem is, but as I told you, going to have someone look at my machine after
the holidays.

There may be some little thing noone has thought of yet to do, or something
may be corrupt. Oh well, we will see in time. Good luck. :)

AVg suggests to do a reinstall and see what happens.
If this doesn't work their other suggestion is to uninstall Ad-aware 2007
and see if the problem goes away and let them know
Since I have the latest updates from avg I will wait till tomorrow to see if
it wants a reboot again since i just did a reinstall
If that doesn't work i will uninstall ad-aware 2007 and see if the problem
goes away.
I found on a few fourms that when uninstalling ad-aware 2007 problem goes
away for them.
I will let you know which works or not

From a dslreports thread:
Do you have Update Immediately selected?
AVG Control Center > Update Manager > Properties > Update Immediately >
Require confirmation from the user
