R. McCarthy,

If there is a bug then just add a comment on the website you are promoting
to let other know instead of posting a sort of advert for this
false-positive software.

Don't bad mouth a good product with your opinion. I always use more than
one removal tool and Ad-Aware is a good one also.

Ad-Aware has always been a good program. But you're so pro Spybot that
you ignore the weaknesses/bugs in that program. I suppose you think
free products are perfect?

And if you gave a useful address, your ISP could probably be accused of
spamming also.

It's generally agreed that both SpyBot and Ad-Aware are two programs
that are helpful in the fight against Malware. What I posted wasn't a ad
promoting them - but an announcement that a newer ( implied improved )
version is available. I added the note about Vista, so that dual-boot users
won't install on a Vista setup and then find it does not work.

Not everything has to be about money - both of these programs are free.

Earthlink doesn't SPAM - however lot's of Spammers do spoof using
Earthlink's domain.

Terry,

Now, you have ranted please pick up your toys.

If I could find that page that lists this (Ad-Aware) & many other programs
giving out false positives I would. Its not just my opinion

I have found many bugs in Spybot & have been a beta tester with them since
version 1.2. Only last week I found a false positive with BulletProof
Software. When I reported it I was told by Spybot Support that BulletProof
Software have stole their database & deserve everything they get. I also
reported another program bug in Spybot 10 days ago. So, I know it's not
perfect.

I use 6 realtime spam databases on a daily basis Terry & see that Mindspring
has popped up again recently. Comcast, att are just another few off the top
of my head who spam daily

Can you install this over older version or should one delete the older one
first?

The installation of the new one will do all of that for you.

Mine didn't. I installed AA 2007 without removing AA 6.0 and ran a scan
with it. Then I went to my old AA 6.0 shortcut and ran it. Ad-Aware 6.0
opened and ran. So, in Control Panel I checked and found both AA 2007 and
AA 6.0 showed there. I removed AA 6.0. I went to my AA 6.0 shortcut (it
was still there), tried running it and found it no longer worked so I
deleted it.

Then I went to Program Files\Lavasoft\ and found folders for both AA2007 and
AA 6 there. I removed the folder AA 6.0.
(I have WinXP Home SP2\IE 7) Everything seems to work OK with AA 2007.
