maybe you shouldn't have used the word 'new' if it has been out for a couple
of months, but hands up all who hadn't heard of it. Me, for a start.

More than a couple of months. ;-) Since July.

i looked at the link you provided and find no reference on that site, to a
6.181 version. i've got version 6 -- the free ware version. is the "newer"
version only for the pro option?

Sorry for the confusion - What I should have wrote was the Reference
file for Build 181 is available 01R235 29.11.2003

To see the build # for AdAware open the program and click the letter I
at the top/right hand corner.

Also, the reason he hadn't heard of it is likely because he never bothered
reading the news on Adaware program.

No. Go to www.lavasoft.de and downloads where you will find V6.181. Any
older version than that is incompatible.

i've version 6 which seems to operate just fine in my Windows XP. is this
6.181 really the same thing? if not, should i remove version 6 before
downloading 6.181 or will it just overwrite and cause no problem. thanks,
dan

Look at the far right-bottom of the AdAware screen, for the build number.
Chances are it's 6.181.
