compatability

Have Quickverse ver 4.0 that ran great on WIN 98, but
unable to get it to run on WIN XP. When you click on the
executable, the screen flashes like it is loading, but then
returns to normal windows. Then when you get ready to shut
down, Windows ask if you want to shut down Quickverse. Have
tried all of the compatability settings that are available
without any luck. Any help will be appreciated. Have QV
ver 7.0, but don't like the layout, and would like to get
QV 4.0 running again.

Glenn:

There is a patch available for QV 4.0 that "somewhat" allows it to be
installed to NT 4.0. It may or may not work for Win2000\ XP? Other
than that, I would suggest you try to get used to your QV 7.0 or maybe
upgrade to QV 8.0.

QV 4.0 is compatible with all versions of Win9X\ME but chokes when
trying to install to NT 4.0 or higher. Don't know if you'll ever get
it to work right. By the way, I too liked QV 4.0 best. Sometimes an
upgrade doesn't necessarily mean it's better.

Regards.
