Clear History - some pages won't go

I have a bunch of les than desirable pages which wil not clear from the
Internet Explorer history.

When I go Tools - Internet Options - Clear History, it clears out the normal
pages but some seem to be permanently in there - how can I clear these off?

I manually cleared out the c:/windows/temporary internet files/ folder but
still no luck..

I'm on Win98 & IE 6

Thanks!

Delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be created on restart.

Thanks, I am running the Win98 which doesn't have a boot to MS-DOS option.

In Windows help it says to go Start - Shutdown - Restart in MS-DOS mode, but
my version only has Standby, Shut Down & Restart..

I formatted a boot disk, but got an error about HIMEM.SYS not being loaded
when I did the SMARTDRV command.

Is there another way to boot to MS-DOS?

Thanks

Ben,

CHDOS: How to get to a MS-DOS prompt.:

When I ran the smartdrv command, I am getting an error:

"SMARTdrive cannot load because the XMS drive, HIMEM.SYS is not loaded.
Check teh CONFIG.SYS file for a DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS command line"

I have no CONFIG.SYS fiel at all. google groups mention adding a line like

DEVICE=c:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS but as I have no config.sys file I'm not sure
what to do..?

Thanks for the continuing help.
