Clear History not working in IE6

Chris

Can anyone help me out? I have been trying to clean out my history
list in Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). The Clear History options works for
all websites, except one. I can't seem to clear this one website. My
Start-->Run history box gets clear, but nothing seems to be working. I
am currently running Windows XP Pro. Here's what I have tried so far:

Clear History
Delete Cookies
Delete Files (with Offline Content)
Deleted several registry entries (Ones that I found in these
newsgroups)
Changed Clear History to 0 (zero) days, then set my system clock ahead

I have tried each of these with IE open, with IE closed, restarting IE
after the changes were made, and restarting my computer after each
change was made. I can't seem to clean this one address from my
history list.

Anyone have ANY ideas? I am at a complete lose. I am up-to-date with
my security patches for Win XP, and have the latest version of IE6.

Thanks,
Chris

I think I just relized what's going on, but I can't figure out how to fix
it. Somehow IE is saving my websites in the address bar. When I click Clear
History, it clears everything out of the bar, however, if I go to type a say
"n", for example, all of a sudden news12.com comes up, even though it's not
in the address bar when I click the down arrow on it. I visited news12.com
weeks ago, and have cleared the history many times since then. Anyone have
any ideas where this list of websites are, and how I can clear them out?

Thanks again,
Chris

PurgeIE had the answer!!! THANK YOU!!!

It must have been corrupt index.dat files. I ran purgeie and it solved
the problem. If you download this program (http://www.purgeie.com/)
search for corrupt cache in the Troubleshoot section of the help menu,
it clearly explains the problem and the solution!!

Thanks to those who provided some help!
