Can't install drivers - administrator problem - PLEASE HELP!!!!

Guest

I am trying to install a digital camera I just bought. But everytime I try,
it tells me "You do not have access to make the required system configuration
modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account."

Okay, I do not have any additional users created on my computer. My account
IS the administrator account, both on Windows and everything else. I have
two days to get this installed or I have to take the camera back.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Verify that you indeed are an administrator. Use the command net localgroup
administrators to see members of the administrators group. If you are unsure
of how to open the command prompt type cmd.exe in the run box and hit OK.
Also keep in mind that many internet protection software packages such as
for malware and spyware have options to lock the system down to protect from
such. If you have that enabled on your computer you will need to disable
such protection before you can install your drivers. Also be sure to scan
your computer for viruses and spyware as they can also restrict the
administrator account. The link below gives information on how to protect
your PC and how to deal with viruses and spyware. Whatever programs you use
be sure that they are current with definitions from the vendors websites as
new threats are discovered every day.

As a last resort you can use the secedit command as described in the link
below to set your security settings to default defined levels but again if
they are not and you have not changed them manually or through an
application that is an indication of malware or some other user on your
computer changing the settings.
