Greetings,

Here is what i have to work with. Win2k, IE6.0 w/ Outlook
express. I can PING a url from the dos prompt but can't
browse the internet or get email. Have run virus scan and
removed the "fizzer" virus to no avail. My browser is
reolvin the URL because when I type in www.yahoo.com
yahoo's URL shows up at the bottom as it is trying to
connect. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I have already gone through Ipconfig and verified the
settings are correct.

Thanks,

FJG

I have a similar problem, but I am not running Outlook
Express. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago.

I Have run Ad-Aware and Spybot and cleaned everything
those two program found. But that did not help. I have
scanned the MS knowledgebase and have not found anything.

Netscape works just fine BTW.

I have seen several other posts that look similar, but I
have not seen any responses other than try Ad-Aware and
Spybot. Nor have I seen anyone post that the problem has
gone been fixed by re-installing IE6.

I've been having a similar issue. "Page can't be
displayed" I have found a fix for this but I have to run
it periodically. It is some type of webutil.exe file that
I found. I believe it is a winsock issue with Microsoft.
I can't find it on their website, but my ISP sends me a
link that is no good.

try gool search for: webutil.exe or webutil2.exe
