can't browse the Internet

Internet Explorer 6 on Win98, all have current patches, System is on a small LAN with Win2000 server running AD, gets ip address from local DHCP server. IE comes up to page that says can't connect to interne

I can access server and all local W/S with shares,
I can ping IPaddress local and over internet.
I can't ping by DNS nam
This is only system of 10 that has this proble
I have remove cookies, deleted cache files & clear histor
Changed Security setting for Internet to Mediu
Privacy is at Mediu
Content is disable
Verified connection is set to LAN, have rerun intenret connection wizar
I have ran Adaware to check for spyware -clean
I have gone through registry and check to make sure nothing was being started through the run & runas
I have unloaded all apps that started when system comes up

None of these have fixed the problem

I tried to load mozialla v1.6 to see if it would work, it will not work eithe
I have removed and reinstalled Norton AntiVirus 2004 - didn't help either
