Have, HP Media Center PC windows media 2005 xp pro sp2. with IE7 and media
player11. Cant burn any type of cd from drag and drop function get error
Disk you have attempted to write may no longer be useable, and at times says,
make sure disk and device are clean. Task manager says things are ok,updated
windows, ran virus scans, cleaned every thing, checked connections, updated
or reloaded drivers, reloaded Roxi plugin, tryed diffrent brands of cd/dvd's,
checked with HP for new drivers and fermware. Can burn useing Nero, but still
couldnt burn any form or text document, uninstalled/reinstalled updated Nero
to see if that helped. Anything obvious Ive missed? Any advice? Thanks
for your time... Devo out

First thing to check, if you haven't done so already:

Enable CD writing in XP

Open 'My Computer'
Right-click on the CD drive and click on 'Properties'
Click the 'Recording' tab and check the box 'Enable CD recording on
this drive'.

Yes Claymore, that was one of the first things I tryed, :) tks for the imput.
Since my original post I've tryed a few more things withought scucess.

Even tryed un-instelling nero and the other burn capable programs I have,
one at a time and clearing there registery entrys to see if one of them had
the prosecess hijacked.

Used up all my ~admittedly limited knowledge~ on the subject...
Guess I'm down to reloading the system if no one else has any other ides as
to what I might try to resolve the problem.

Hello again, Devo

Maybe I'm too late, but there are a couple of things to try here (some
you've done already):
