Cannot load page after disconnecting / reconnecting

Hi all,

Got a problem with WinXP Home SP2 and Internet Explorer.

When you first start the computer, and connect to the internet, you can
browse any / all sites in Internet Explorer. However, once you disconnect,
then reconnect, IE just comes to "This page cannot be displayed" No matter
WHAT page you try to view. Pages can be viewed in other browsers just fine.
The only solution is to reboot the computer, and IE will function again. What
can be done?

It may help if you elaborate on what you mean exactly by that.

Before rebooting do some diagnosis.
E.g. use nslookup to see if it can still see the DNS servers.
(Open a command window and enter just nslookup
if there is a problem you'll see signs of timeouts and attempts
to switch to the alternate server, etc. Enter exit to leave that
subcommand mode.)

Instead of booting, if you are using dialup, just hang up and redial.
E.g. from the same command window enter: rasdial /d

Etc.

Good luck
