blocked links

I received a legitimate message with several links in it. When I put the
mouse pointer on any of the links a box pops up showing the link but with
"blocked:: at the beginning ("blocked::http//:www etc."). When I click on the
link I get the following error box: "This file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Creat an association in the
Set Associations control panel". None of this makes any sense. Any
explanation? Disabling my antivirus/spyware had no effect, and the same
message was ok on another computer.

Go to Default Programs, either from the Start menu or in the Control Panel,
and ensure that Windows Mail has all its defaults set.

Two things to check:

1) Go to Tools, Options, Security, and select Internet zone.

2) if that does not fix it, make sure Internet Explorer has all its defaults.
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet
Explorer. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

I don't know if anyone can help me with this but I've tried all of the
suggestions listed lately to fix this problem and nothing has worked yet...I
made sure the defaults were there as well as selecting the internet zone in
the Security section under options/tools for Windows (vista) mail, any help
would be appreciated.

Windows does not insert "Blocked:" in front of a URL. Some other program is
doing this. You can go to Start | Search and type msconfig and then disable
all startup items and non-MS services and then reboot and see if the problem
persists after making IE default. If it doesn't, then its one of those
startup items that is causing the problem.
