HELP

I am not able to open attachments or links in email that are sent to me.
When I do it says:
"This file does not have a program associated with it performing this
action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel."
I have no idea what this means. Can somebody give me a solution, please?

What is the attachment file type, DOC, TXT, PDF, PPS, etc.?
Are you able to save the attachment and open it outside of
Windows Mail?
